Ceramic Collaboration
For WITHIN CHANGE, a group exhibition held by OCD Gallery at the 61st Venice Biennale, Reiji Shimane presented his first ever works in ceramic, developed through a collaboration with artist and ceramicist Luke Hamel Cooke. Known primarily for his intricate ink drawings and theories around “artput” — the continuous flow and reprocessing of visual information — Shimane approached clay not as a fixed sculptural medium, but as another surface through which marks, gestures, and energy could accumulate.
